Essaouira is an outdoor town: the ocean, the dunes, an argan-covered hinterland and a UNESCO World Heritage medina, all a few minutes from each other. Here are the activities our guests book most, and how to combine them during your stay.
Quad biking, buggies and thrills
Quad biking in Essaouira is the activity our guests ask for most: from a one-hour ride across the dunes and the wild beach, from 300 Dhs, to a full day out to the Sidi M'Barek waterfalls, always with a guide and no licence needed. The buggy and sandboarding keep the adventure going in the dunes, while the electric motorbike and the 4x4 ride round off our adventure and thrills range.
Surf, kitesurf and watersports
Thanks to its steady wind, Essaouira is one of Morocco's watersports capitals. Beginners and experienced riders alike will find a surf lesson matched to their level, and windy days are perfect for kitesurfing, windsurfing or wingfoil. To know when it blows, read our guide to the wind in Essaouira.
Horse rides, nature and the hinterland
A horse or camel ride on the beach at sunset remains one of the best memories of a stay. Further south, the Sidi M'Barek coastal walk leads to a wild beach lined with cliffs, while the Ain Lahjer oasis and the argan forest reveal the countryside inland. Nature lovers will also enjoy birdwatching.
Medina, culture and craft workshops

In half a day, combine a guided medina tour with a late-afternoon horse ride on the beach. With a full day, add a nature or thrills activity, such as a quad bike ride or the Sidi M'Barek coastal walk.
Our quad rides start just outside Essaouira and cross dunes, wild beaches, forests and fishing villages. Packages range from 1 hour (300 Dhs solo, 450 Dhs double) to a full day out to the Sidi M'Barek waterfalls (1,300 Dhs solo, 1,500 Dhs double), with guide, helmet and insurance included.
